Dustin applies his excellent knowledge of physiology by paying close attention to what’s going on with his clients’ bodies. So he pushes us hard, but with a real purpose, and keeps us safe. He’s a good motivator and fun to work with. We’ve had great success, in increased strength, visibly improved muscle and muscle tone, and weight loss.
Back in the day, weight lifting was reserved for those who needed the bulk strength for their sport or for the beach in Cali. So when I was looking for something to do with my then 15 year old son, working out with a personal trainer and lifting weights was not high on my list. Nevertheless, Dustin and his innovative workout regime has been an absolute game changer for my son and me. Two knee surgeries, low back injury, and other aches and pain, haven’t much slowed me down thanks to Dustin tailoring my routine to my individual needs. No more excuses, get off your couch and into Dustin’s gym. You will shortly be stronger and mentally tougher than you ever thought possible. Thanks Dustin!
I’m Sarah Troccoli and I have been training with Chris Fudge for about two years. I was a member of the 2013 Troy High School, Division I, State Championship soccer team and next year I will be attending college and playing soccer for the University of Florida in Gainvesville, Fl. Chris is a great trainer, and he’s been working with me on strength for soccer and is very knowledgeable.
Lifting weights can be dull, but he takes the boredom out of it and makes it fun. He works hard at making our time in the gym productive. Chris has a soccer background and this has been very helpful in his approach to my strength and fitness. He is truly invested in my fitness and making sure that I am successful on the field. This past season I had been having trouble playing the full 90 minutes of a game. After working with Chris, I am now able to play the whole match without fatigue. Being 5’11,” I’ve always been more lean and graceless rather than muscular. Chris helped strengthen my upper body accordingly so that I don’t get pushed off the ball so easily. He has also helped strengthen my legs in the sense where I can kick a ball farther and longer.
One of the biggest things Chris has helped me with is my form. Every session we concentrate on improving my form in order to maximize my results. He always keeps a competitive atmosphere in the gym to get the best out of his clients. This past summer I had a strained my quad. Not only did Chris provide me various stretches, he was able to work around it so that I didn’t have to stop training.
I look forward to going to training because he is fun to work with and has really helped me improve my game. Training with Chris has brought me the confidence needed to excel in a competitive collegiate environment.
I have always been a thin girl. But that’s just it, isn’t it? A “thin” girl. No definition, no tone, and barely any muscle. I felt fine in clothes; put a thick belt around my waist on top of a shirt and there I have it, nice curves, right? We all know that doesn’t take us far in fitness, health, or at the beach. I have trained for a number of years and have never been satisfied with the results, which I found very frustrating. I tried various methods of training from reading magazines and listening to other people, to you tubing workouts. I was a nursing student, working 13-hour shifts at times, pulling all-nighters studying, eating fast food on the go, and sometimes not eating at all for the entire day. Did I mention I had a slow metabolism and many stomach issues that did not allow me to gain weight? I was 122 lbs, 5ft 7’’ tall at 20% body fat.
I did not have a lot of definition or muscle, but I had a goal and I wanted to be fit and live a healthy lifestyle.
I started working out about five years ago at Lifetime Fitness in Troy, MI, where I met Chris Fudge, a personal trainer. Five years ago, I would have told you that you’re crazy if you think I’m going to get another personal trainer when I have the gym now. I had trained with a couple of different trainers prior, and they just did not cut it for me. I needed a trainer who adjusted to helping me become who I wanted to be, not train me the way they would train a 200 lb., 7% body fat male.
I worked out about 5-6 times a week, at least one hour a day, many times two hours, and saw absolutely no results for over 6 months. I was getting very frustrated. During this time, Chris would approach me, as a friend, and give me helpful tips about what to do and what not to do. After about a couple months of this, I really started to see how passionate he was about what he does. I realized that being a personal trainer isn’t just a career for him; it is part of what defines him. He wants to make a difference in peoples lives; he wants to help them feel good about themselves.
Chris is one of those ‘special people’ who honestly wants you to achieve success from the bottom of his heart, and he will not let you quit until you reach your goal. In these 5 years he has always impressed me with his honest desire to help others and train them in a way that helped them reach their own personal goals, whether it be to lose weight, gain muscle, or just tone up a little; so I started working out with him on a regular basis.
I told Chris of my frustrations and explained to him that I could not achieve what I wanted. Chris suggested a new training regime which was a lot easier for me to follow, yet much more intense than what I was doing before. I had been basically over training, all the wrong ways. Chris has been giving me advice now for over 4 years and taught me a lot about physical fitness and the importance of weight training.
In 4 months of training with him on a regular basis I went from 20% body fat to 13% body fat, weighing in at 127 lbs. I now train 3 / 4 times a week but every session is different in method on Chris’s advice. I have always been so respectful of his ability to motivate and coach people to make each workout a wonderful experience. Your dreams are his dreams and that is a rare and a wonderful quality in a personal trainer. He has the ability to drive you to try harder than you thought possible and enjoy every minute of it.
He adjusted to my personality and his wittiness and friendly sarcasm kept me pushing harder. He reminded me constantly that I could do better which in turn made me push harder for better results. If I wanted an honest answer about how I was looking, believe me, he told me the truth, whether it was what I wanted to hear or not. Chris makes me feel comfortable however; he is a fantastic trainer and knows how to be a friend on a personal and on a professional level. If you have the pleasure to work with him, enjoy every minute and you will feel and see success in each and every workout. Consider yourself lucky.
